22-23 State Required Selective Service Confirmation Form

The FAFSA Simplification Act was enacted into law as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. Among other things, the law eliminated the requirement for male students to register with Selective Service before the age of 26 to be eligible for Title IV aid. Although Selective Service is not required for federal financial aid requirements, it is still a requirement to qualify for any state funding from the Higher Education Aids Board (HEAB) in the state of Wisconsin.

Males (any persons assigned the sex of male at birth) who are at least 18 years of age and not currently on active duty with the U.S. Armed Forces, or who were born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with Selective Service. You must submit a copy of the State Required Selective Service Confirmation form, along with the applicable supporting documentation.

Females (any persons assigned the sex of female at birth) who did not answer question 21 on the FAFSA must make a correction to this question on their FAFSA for resolution.

Children of Fallen Heroes

You have self-reported as being a child of a fallen hero. We want to express our sympathy to you and your family regarding the loss of your parent or guardian, and recognize their service to protect others and our community.

To determine if you are eligible to receive the Children of Fallen Heroes scholarship, you must complete the Children of Fallen Heroes form and submit supporting documentation.

If you meet all eligibility criteria, you would receive the maximum Pell Grant for the award year. In subsequent award years, your eligibility for the maximum Pell Grant for the award year will continue, as long as you have a Pell-eligible EFC for the subsequent award year and continue to be an eligible student.
